Jubilee Year of Saint Francis of Assisi

+++
Words from Canon Niall
ALL Saints
Mercy, purity of heart, and peace-making are the fruits of that same dependence. We learn to forgive because we have been forgiven; we learn to see God because we have stopped looking only at ourselves; we learn to make peace because Christ has already reconciled us. The final Beatitudes remind us that this path is not costless. The saints were not spared insult or loss. What set them apart was not immunity from suffering, but the conviction that no persecution could revoke the promise: ‘theirs is the kingdom of heaven.’
We do not become such people by effort alone. The saints were formed by the Word, by the sacraments, by daily fidelity in ordinary duties, and by the quiet surrender that lets Christ live his own life in them. Their witness is not a museum of virtues but a living assurance: what grace accomplished in them, grace can begin in us. On this feast we ask not merely to admire the blessed, but to be numbered among them.
Have a blessed week.
Welcome to our new priest Father Andrei ~ please keep him in your prayers.

  • Thresholds of Hope : the Vicariate for Adult Formation - another wonderful tool when proclaiming the good news of God's grace to all. St John Henry Newman believed that the lay faithful were to take a full part in the life of the Church, to be confident in expressing their Catholic Faith and willing to share its beauty with others. Hope you find this resource useful; more here https://thresholdsofhope.co.uk/
